Eden Meadows Mall located in Edenvale, Johannesburg is an existing mall where the owner wanted to bring the entrance of a large anchor tenant outward in order to be visible from the nearby main road. This required a new entrance structure and covered walkway through to the existing entrance.

We were requested to undertake the structural design of the new roof extension over an existing walkway with minimal interruption of the daily operations of the surrounding retailers. We achieved this by specifying micro-piled foundations and a light steel cladded structure

Simultaneously, in order to alleviate congestion and open the entrance roadway into the parking area, the existing road needed to be widened which required the demolition of the existing and construction of a new retaining structure.
